MANA is a South African - Peruvian musician, filmmaker & DJ based in Cape Town. Her compositions are ethereal and vulnerable, influenced by her Latin roots and love for immersive cinematic experiences.

MANA's background in theatre & film making and is known to create immersive audiovisual performances. 

Her work as composer and vocalist has taken her to residencies in Switzerland associated with the likes of the Sun Ra Arkestra and Bird's Eye Jazz Club. A seasoned performer, she's toured around Europe, Peru, South Africa and Mozambique and notably at Pangea, Search, Convoi (NL) and Reforest festivals. 

Reinforcing her beliefs in the value of live music for fostering culture & community, she is also part of many multi-genre projects including Brazilian jazz 9 piece Oceanico, Afro Fusion sonic liberation collective Operation Khataza, downtempo duo FUMAH with producer Fu Dog, among various others performing in Africa, Europe and South America.

 MANA performs as a DJ under the moniker ANIMA. As a selector, her work is rooted in cultural hybridity, histories & futures of music and inclusivity. ANIMA's multi-genre sets often highlight the Global South, ensuring its representation in the global music scene. In a modern high consumption world, she favours the virtuous and virtuosic.
